Located on the street between Bagolino and its fraction Ponte Caffaro, this ancient church was founded in the X° (tenth) century by Benedictine monks from Serle.
Because of the location, there were violent disputes between Bagolino and the Lords of Lodrone, who, as lords, claimed the property of the church.
Bagolino’s inhabitants took care of this church and, every Sunday, they paid a priest to celebrate the mass in San Giacomo.
