The Church of Saints Faustino and Giovita was built along the path that led from the church of Santa Maria Vergine to the top of the hill on which the Vobarno’s fortress was built. The village of Vobarno has grown during history right at the foot of this hill, on the banks of the river Chiese.
The origins of the structure are probably dated back to the beginning of the 1200s, a period in which the church is mentioned in the census of the property of the bishop of Brescia. Of the ancient building there seems to be no part in today’s structure, of much larger dimensions. The façade of the structure is very simple and consists of a door surmounted by a semicircular opening. A bell tower is annexed to the church. The interior of the church has a single nave and is decorated with a cycle of remarkable quality frescoes.
