The municipality of Vestone doesn’t show any signs of settlements prior to Roman Conquest. The very first residential complexes were Promo and Tesolo while the lower parts of the commune were settled later in about IV century A.C. In 1962 in Nozza was found a tomb closed by a huge red stone which contained three coins. One of these coins portrays an Emperor Adriano ( 119 A. C.). The Langobard era was witnessed in 1962 in the division of Promo, where was found a tomb containing a small blackish ceramic jug with oriental decorations. This jug dates back to the 6th or 7th century.
An old manuscript dates back to 140 A. C. – the origins of the small Saint Quirico and Judith church. This church used to be the most ancient church of Sabbia Valley, it existed until the second half of the 15th century when bishop Bollani paid a visit here. In 1946 as the roof of this church collapsed, it was demolished. The village of Nozza developed itself at the foot of the Rocca; here used to be the historic market – Mercato della Nozza. The origin of the name Vestone comes from Bestone (large pasture). Nozza derives from latin “noza”( damage) probably because of repeated floods caused by Nozza stream ( affluent of Chiese river).
